Photographer Suzy Allman captured one of the most dramatic moments of 2010—the impact of Tropical Storm Irene along the coast—with a video camera while kayaking on Milton Road in Rye, New York. Allman, who posted the video clip on You Tube, is active in the Committee to Save the Bird Homestead, a Rye group which is restoring two historic buildings on the Blind Brook for the purposes of producing programs on coastal ecology, historic preservation,and sustainability.
