The Long Island Sound Study (LISS) invites you to learn about and comment on the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) update process. The first CCMP was completed in 1994. The updated CCMP will address current and emerging issues and resource management systems.

The meeting will be held:

  • June, 5,  2013 (Wednesday)
    5.30 to 8.30 pm
    Stony Brook University, Endeavor Hall Room 120
    (Located at the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences)

The goals of the Study  are to improve the Sound’s water quality, protect habitat and living resources, educate and involve the public, improve the long-term understanding of how to manage the Sound, monitor progress, and guide management efforts.The Study  uses the CCMP as a blueprint to develop strategies and programs to reach long and short term goals. Meeting topics will include:

– A short PowerPoint on the CCMP background and update process
– Breakout sessions to brainstorm and gather feedback from participants on issues and objectives
– Discussion of comments/feedback
– Review of next steps
