In 2018, the UK’s Collins Dictionary picked “single-use” as its word of the year, noting that it is “a term that describes items whose unchecked proliferation are blamed for damaging the environment and affecting the food chain.” on the short list was also “plogging,” defined as “a recreational activity, originating in Sweden, that combines jogging with picking up litter.”
