Skip the Straw Greenwich is doing a great job helping to break the Single-Use Plastic Habit, and protecting #LISound. It has worked with eight restaurants in town to go stop serving plastic straws (and providing alternatives only by request), holding beach cleanups (the straws in the photo were collected from last year’s International Coastal Cleanup event at Greenwich Point), and educating youth about the dangers of marine plastic pollution to wildlife at schools, camps, and other event. The group also has a very useful website to explain what residents and business should be doing, including ecologically responsible alternatives.
