Issues & Actions

New York State Parks Education Staff hold up new Long Island Sound Study Stewardship sign and map at Sunken Meadow State Park. The park is part of the Nissequogue River Long Island Sound Stewardship Area, one of 33 places identified by the Long Island Sound Study as having unique ecological and/or recreational resources. LISS plans to work with more park managers to install signs and maps in other Stewardship Areas. Each stewardship map will have a description of the Stewardship Area and a link to the Online Stewardship Atlas. Credit: Amy Mandelbaum, NY Sea Grant.
