#DontTrashLISound – 11 (Summer 2019)

Long Island Sound communities are doing their share to fix the plastic waste problem on our beaches and #LISound. One county and 17 towns (i.e. cities, villages, and towns), have passed laws to ban single-use plastic bags; another 18 are contemplating similar laws, according to Citizens Campaign for the Environment. Communities are also passing laws to ban Styrofoam packaging, single-use straws, and balloon releases. NY and CT are also starting bans. But you don’t need a law to do your share to Break the #SingleUsePlastic habit. Bring your own bag to the grocery store and your own bag or bottle to the beach. Encourage your neighbors to do the same. #DontTrashLISound.
