Google Analytics is a piece of software that tracks data about our visitors so we can learn how people are using the website. This allows us to make better decisions about design and writing. Sometimes we compile aggregate statistics through Google Analytics about the number of visitors this site receives, what pages they are reading, how long they are staying, and what browsers are being used. Our website has a “Contact Us” form that provides you with an opportunity to communicate to LISS’s partners by e-mail for the purpose of providing feedback on a LISS program or the health of Long Island Sound, or requesting information about a LISS program or the health of Long Island Sound. As part of the email request, you may be sending personally identifying information such as a name or an address. The contents of the e-mail may be shared with staff from LISS’s partner agencies who can best draft a response to you. The contents of the information is not used for any other purpose.
LISS provides opportunities for you to receive web-based and print newsletters, e-mail alerts, and other materials on an ongoing basis by subscribing through forms available on the website. The subscription data on these forms are collected by LISS for the sole purpose of distributing the materials requested and are not used in any other way.
