#DontTrashLISound – 13 (Summer 2018)

#DontTrashLISound Video of the week: The American eel is a migratory fish born in the Sargasso Sea, a gyre in the Atlantic Ocean. They mature in fresh water such as in the tributaries of Long Island Sound only to return to the sea again to spawn. While you might expect the Sargasso Sea to be pristine, the circular system of currents that make up a gyre are bringing to the sea lots of plastic garbage. See “A Plastic Sea,” a National Geographic video to learn more.
