The Piping Plover is our third and final #LISound creature highlighted in our Protect Our Wildlife: Break the Single-Use Plastic Habit sticker series. These small birds live on sandy beaches and tidal flats. According to Audubon, many of its nesting areas are subject to human disturbance or other threats, and it is now considered an endangered or threatened species in all parts of its range. Audubon New York conducts the “Be a Good Egg Campaign” to teach people how to protect shoreline birds such as the Piping Plover. http://ny.audubon.org/birds-0birdsways-help/be-good-egg
