This April, environmentalists from Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ and NJDFW rescued an American Oystercatcher entangled in a fishing line on a New Jersey beach. The plastic monofilament fiber used by anglers can be deadly for many coastal birds. Anglers should look for monofilament recycling bins available at some piers.
