New York State Parks Education Staff hold up new Long Island Sound Study Stewardship signs at Sunken Meadow State Park. The signs will soon be installed to help educate the public about the area’s connection to Long Island Sound. Sunken Meadow State Park is part of the Nissequogue River Long Island Sound Stewardship Area, one of 33 places identified by LISS as having unique ecological and/or recreational resources. Next year, LISS will look to other Stewardship Areas to install the signs. Learn more about the Stewardship Initiative at the Long Island Sound On-line Stewardship Atlas.
